Our brief for this project was to renovate a former farm workers cottage to create a modern home while retaining the original character of the building, and making the most its scenic location overlooking the Salthouse Marshes on the North Norfolk Coast.

The result is a sensitively restored brick exterior and a light filled spacious interior with the new accommodation arranged over two floors. In the garden a separate timber lined studio has been built serving as both guest accommodation, retreat, and a workshop for the client.

Carl managed the project as main contractor, hiring local subcontractors for the shell, combined with London sub-contractors for the interior and a large helping of self-build.
