I guess I’m always searching for the next idea, thinking about how we can do more with less, how to make an impact. I’m interested in people and how what we do creates opportunity, delight & surprise. If we don’t create positive change, why bother?
Pop Brixton was the first project that really fulfilled this ambition. Taking a scrap of unused space in Brixton, being the client, designer, builder and operator in a unique new approach to regeneration and creating a whole new way of doing things. I’m immensely proud of the positive impact this has had, for the people that work and run start-up businesses there, for the good work and support offered from the members of Pop Brixton to the local community and to the millions of people who have passed through the doors visiting the site in its first four years of life.
It has taken on a life of its own beyond the team who first imagined it, in my mind a true mark of success.
