I joined Turner.Works in the spring of 2019 and, as Finance Manager, am responsible for the studio’s fiscal strategies and practices; giving the designers the space to create while I ensure financial procedures are smoothly carried out. It’s an exciting time right now as the team journeys into design and build so my role has evolved into a bigger arena where I now co-ordinate a whole shebang of numbers, materials and various trade contractors and consultants.
This is the 4th group of architects I have worked with over a ten year period and have garnered all sorts of skills from their varying practice set ups, size and design bents. I like being in the heart of this creative environment and have always been a big fan of a clever, unique building.
Before getting up close and personal with architects, I did a 20 year stretch at her majesty’s pleasure, teaching in 3 of London’s prisons and eventually becoming Head of Education at Pentonville. Even got a gong from the Palace for my outstanding contribution towards the welfare of prisoners.
I have always enjoyed a challenge! Get a ridiculous kick out of problem solving and putting my particular slant on things in order to achieve the best results for my team.
